Moving When
you're getting ready to move start with good moving boxes. Use only strong, corrugated cartons with covers.
If you get boxes from a food store, be sure to inspect the boxes before you use
them--they may contain insects. You should also have foam peanuts, plastic bags, labels, tissue paper for delicate packing jobs, gummed tape or strong twine, markers and labels, a notebook and pen for carton identification log and scissors and/or a sharp knife.
Pack one room at a time. This will help you when it comes time to unpack. Mark all boxes, designating the room and the box number. Use your carton identification log to record the number of boxes packed per room.
Pack
electronic equipment in their original cartons whenever
possible. Otherwise use strong, corrugated cartons and
place protective padding on the bottom of the carton. Wrap
a protective pad around the item and place it in the
carton.
